Additional Driver Policy

Additional driver charge is EUR 3.60 per day plus tax

Age Requirements

Minimum rental age is 21 years. There is a young drivers fee of EUR 9.50 per day plus tax, capped at 20 days for 21-24 year olds

21-24 year olds are only permitted to drive the following vehicles: A – MCMN, B – ECMN, C – CCMR, CA – CCAR, CE – CWMR, D – IDMR, DA – IDAR, DE – IWMR, E – SDMR, EE - SVMR, 25 year olds F – FDMR, FA – FDAR, FE – FWMR, G – PDMR, GR – PDAR, HR – LDAR, R – PVMN, S – FVMN.

If a young driver is an additional driver, the charge will be EUR 3.60 per day plus tax (for additional driver) plus EUR 9.50 per day for being a Young Driver (Total: EUR 13.10 plus tax). Any further additional Young drivers will only be charged the Additional Driver fee of EUR 3.60 plus tax per day.  

Drivers must be 25 years of age for all other car groups.

Condition of Vehicle

Vehicle must be returned, normal wear & tear expected, in the same condition as when rented. If special cleaning is required a separate charge will be made directly to the customer

Cross Border Policy

Cars may NOT be driven into the following countries unless it is a Corporate Customer with an agreement set up on their account or a Tour Operator with special arrangements: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Turkey & Ukraine. Islands may not be entered.  There is no charge for cross border into other countries.  Car groups G – PDMR, GR – PDAR, HR – LDAR, are not allowed to be driven into Italy. Vehicles may cross into the UK but one-way rentals are not allowed.

Licence Requirements

The Driver must have held a current driving licence for over 1 year.  The original driving licence must be presented at the time of rental and must be readable and unbroken; International driving licences are required for renters who present a non – EU driving licence  which is not understandable and recognizable as a driving licence.  International driving licences are only valid outside the country of origin and when presented along with the original driving licence, US driving licences will be accepted for non-cash rentals only

Domestic One-way rentals are available, free of charge between German locations.

Out of Hours Policy

All out of hours reservations on a request basis and must be requested at time of reservation.

Payment Policy

All major Credit Cards.

For Traveller’s cheques or EC Maestro Cards:

Deposit: Euro 200.00 plus the rental charges is required.   Only exception are touroperator rentals with prepaid voucher,  here the deposit can be given cash.

Idenfication requirements for Travellers cheques or EC Maestro Cards are:

- EU Residents: Driving License, Passport/ID card, Resident Registration and Home & Business phone numbers. 

- Non-EU Residents: As above, plus international driving license, return flight ticket and a contact phone number in Germany.

For Credit Card payment:

Deposit: Euro 200.00 will be authorised in addition to the rental charges. 

NB: For rentals of PDMR, LDAR, PVMN, FVMN, a second credit card must be provided.  The second card is not required for corporate customers. The second card will be authorised for validity only. A deposit is held on the credit card until the vehicle is returned

Refuelling Policy

The vehicle is supplied with a full tank of fuel. Return full or refuelling charges will apply as follows: 2.07 EUR plus VAT for each litre, A pre-purchase fuel option is available when collecting the vehicle at the branch. Fuel purchase option 1.03 EUR Cent plus VAT for each litre.

For Info: German Law states that it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure the car is equipped correctly for the weather conditions.

Airport surcharge is 19% plus tax on all charges except fuel

Insurances AND Waivers:

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver

Purchasing Collision Damage Waiver - reduces the amount of the renters damage responsibility. If CDW is declined, customer will be responsible for the entire damage/loss amount

Third Party Cover is at least 1 million EURs

Mastercover

May be purchased in addition to CDW to reduce the deductible amount to:

TP – Theft Protection

Reduces renters responsibility for loss/damage to the car by or following theft /attempted theft to:

Supercover

Supercover reduces the deductable to Euro 0.00.  Contains tire insurance, glass insurance and PAI. With this insurance customer has total protection for vehicle and passengers. CDW must be booked.

Extra Cover

Extra cover is liable by tire damage and breakage of glass (all windows) at rental car and is bookable  additional to CDW or Mastercover. To book Extra Cover, CDW must be booked.
